History — Already 60 years of golf in Helsinki

A swamp, mattock and Keijo

It all started in 1959, when founder Keijo Autiokari decided to turn the barren terrain of Laajasalo into a golf course. With content and uncompromising work, the first fairways were cleared to the delight of the people of Helsinki.

One of Finland's oldest

Laajasalo Golf is the second oldest golf course in Finland. We have witnessed the growth and development of the sport for decades, while still staying true to our original laid-back spirit.

Crushed brick & Greens

We have come a long way from the brick crushed greens, treated with salt in the early days, to the carefully maintained grass greens of today. Technology changes, but the passion for the game remains.

The Club

Coffees in the woods have developed into a modern clubhouse with wonderful terraces. It is still a place where stories from rounds live on and new friendships are made.
